Last Thursday, we had the first ever CSE216 midterm. Usually this class does not have a midterm because its more a one big software engineering project that you do with a group of 5-6 students but this semester we were given a midterm. The midterm was challenging and covered a broad range of topics from the book and the lecture. We were expected to how many topics covering how the software engineering design and process. As well as how Java classes behave. It required some background knowledge from CSE002 and CSE017 which mainly deals with Java programming. This is crucial for computer science student because knowing how the software engineering process works is important on real world job. Companies that develop software require this kind of class be taken by students. The grades are not out yet but it will definitely be interesting to see how it turns out.
