Last semester I may have mentioned online homework I was required to complete (I probably complained about it). I happen to have the same online homework this year as well which I am not too happy about. The online homework assignments, called Learnsmart, are basically a mass of questions we are required to answer by a certain due date. The thing is, you cannot complete the assignment without completing every single question. If you get a question wrong, you are not penalized; however, you are forced to re answer the question at some point in the future. This can get frustrating when a Learnsmart assignment has you do over a hundred questions. Also, I find that the content of the assignment is not particularly useful. I have yet to see material from Learnsmart appear on a quiz or exam. I guess the main purpose of Learnsmart is to introduce us to the chapter that we have yet to learn, however I find it not that useful. Honestly, I probably cannot complain because just completing the Learnsmart adds 10% to my final grade (graded on completion not correctness).
