CSE 202: Data Lab: Manipulating Bits

Our first assignment for CSE 202 was manipulating bits with bitwise operator to do various puzzle which can be easily implemented using conditionals. The purpose of this assignment is to help students understand the basic bitwise operation that occur at the low level of the computer architecture. When you program at higher level language, we do not think of how the computer process the code. However, when you are working with low level architecture it is more clear to see how machines function in binary or 0’s and 1’s. Knowledge of computer architecture at low level is extremely in debugging higher level language. It can help improve performance drastically and make efficient code.
