In CSE 262 – Programming Languages, our assignment curriculum is to learn python. Python can be described as general purpose, high-level programming language. It supports multiple programming paradigms which include functional programming, imperative programming, and object-oriented programming. Python is a scripting language unlike Java or C/C++. Scripting languages are starting to be more used in commercial product since it is very powerful for small programs. Unlike Java, it is a dynamic typed language which means there is no need to worry about type when dealing with variable declaration. It also include an automatic memory management that is built in the language. The reason Python was created was to emphasizes code readability and to allow programmer to write program with as few lines possible. That is generally the case for most scripting language. With being said, I am very excited to learn python in class and outside of class because scripting language are great for small programming competition because you are able to code quickly and efficiently.
